Busy, Busy, Busy

I know it has been a long time since my last post. I have been busy baking and crafting. I made another embroidery name book for a good friend of mine.

Baby Shower Cake

Cake decorating is a challenge for me. I am more relaxed now and I truly enjoy baking and decorating cookies and cakes. I do know my limits and I am not ashamed to say I can't do a design. I would rather say, "No" than ruin someone's special day.

Here is a picture of my latest cake.

Princess Cake

Here is my latest cake creation. It was the first time I used this pan. The cake was for my niece's Debutante Ball.

Hey Diddle Diddle Embroidery Book

My Etsy account is set up. This is the first item I am going to post to my account.

Graduation Cookies

A friend of mine asked me to make some graduation cookies. I think they turned out ok for my first try.

A New Chapter

I make many different crafts and I love to bake. I have sold many items to family and friends. About ten years ago I found out about Etsy. It's an online site that sells vintage and homemade items. I have always wanted to try it, but I was to scared. Well, I am still scared, but I decided to give it a try. During the month of May, I am going to craft and bake up a storm to get my business started. I will post pictures of the items I make.

My newest project was fun to make. I enjoy making crafts for children. I decided to go into my stash and make something that was not only cute but would also teach the receiver his or her name and colors. I came up with a Felt Embroidery Name book.

Wood Working

My family and I just finished a 12 hour road trip. During that time I listened to MANY songs on the radio. One of the songs mentioned "don't forget where you started" or something similar to that. Well, I immediately thought about the rocking chairs I use to make. They were my first "crafts." I think it's time to dust off the scroll saw, purchase new paints and stains and visit my local Home Depot for some plywood! Here are a few of the chairs I made for family and friends.

My Cakes

For the past two weeks I have been making cakes. This is something new for me. I am so glad that I have family and friends that let me practice my skills on their cakes. I made a truck cake for my grandson, a piece sign cake for my niece, and a two tier Thomas the Train cake for my nephew.
